City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing
Course Content
Mandatory units:
- Monitor procedures to safety control work operations
- Promote additional services or products to customers
- Provide hairdressing consultation services
- Creatively cut hair using a combination of techniques
Optional units:
- Provide colour correction services
- Creatively style and dress hair
- Develop and enhance your creative hairdressing skills
- Contribute to the planning and implementing of promotional activities
Who is the course for?
Hairdressing is a ‘people profession’ and is about being creative and innovative. It is fun and rewarding, as well as hard work! There are many avenues open to you in terms of career and this qualification is a highly successful method of gaining your Level 3, with good attendance and commitment this can be achieved.
Assessment Method
To gain this qualification you will need to show plenty of evidence that you have undertaken each unit. It is a practical qualification, so each student gets through grounding in all the skill areas by a qualified tutor who will assess you using some of the following methods:
- Observations
- Oral questions
- Written questions
- Mandatory written paper
Entry Requirements
For students with fewer than five GCSEs grades 9-4 (A*-C), or an equivalent qualification at Level 2. The course requires a degree of personal commitment and the ability to work as part of a team. Students must be working towards or have achieved Level 2 in English and Maths or have gain qualifications in Level 2 Hairdressing. All students are required to have 1 day per week placement within a salon environment.
Future Opportunities
Progression to higher levels of qualification or employment within the hairdressing industry.
